• OpenVPN SNMP PHP Status exports the status of an OpenVPN server via SNMP to a PHP script. Comes with a parser to turn the OpenVPN status into a useful data structure. Look at the example output and download the openvpn-snmp-status.php script file.
• ESX Patch Made Easy is a set of simple Bash scripts to keep a patch repository up-to-date and apply the patches on an ESX server in the correct order. Download the Source (Version 2007-06-29).
  Note for ESX 3.0.2: epme-2007-06-29 seems to work fine for ESX 3.0.2 as of 2007-09-21. Simply paste the content of the website http://www.vmware.com/download/vi/vi3_patches_302.html into the script instead the one mentioned in the script. I will release an updated version of EPME as soon as there are more patches available.
• Relax & Recover is a disaster recovery framework for Linux and other Unix-like systems. See the ReaR Sourceforge Homepage for more information and look for files and other information at our Sourceforge Project page.
• OpenVPN Gateway Builder is a build system to create a bootable CD (or USB Stick) with a minimal Linux system on it to run OpenVPN gateways. OGB saves the hassle to run and support a complete Linux system if you want just an OpenVPN endpoint.
  Of course it is mostly a system to create a mini Linux distribution and is very easy to extend to include other software (even without OpenVPN), so that you can use it as a building platform for building your very own mini Linux system.

• cdcheck will check wether there is a disc inserted into a CDROM/DVD drive. Developed on Linux, tested nowhere else. Download the source code.
• mail2yaps is a simple email - SMS gateway for Postfix and YAPS (Yet Another Pager Software) that I wrote because I didn't find anything suitable for my needs. It works also with other mailers, I just happen to use Postfix. Download the source code.
• chunkedlogger is a tool similar to Apache's rotatelogs, but it works on binary files and creates only a limited number of backlogs. Download the source code.
• setnodename is a LD_PRELOAD library to change the nodename reported by uname(2) and gethostname(2) calls to another value. Mostly used in chroot environments or similar. Download the source code, which contains the full documentation.

Historic Software

The project and software listed here is either unmaintained for a very long time (e.g. I forgot what it was made for) or superseded by more recent developments (and presented only for reference).

• Intelligent rsync backup creates an incremental-forever rsync backup with hardlinks of many systems. Read the rsync-backup.sh source for further information.Superseded by RBME.
